James has worked in private planning consultancy since 2009, working within major national consultancy companies.  Prior to his private consultancy experience, James previously worked within the local authority sector as a policy officer, supporting the preparation of the local plan and associated evidence base.  James has worked on behalf of a number of clients, including national housebuilders and land promoters throughout his employment history, regularly appearing at local plan examinations.  James has also worked on major planning applications and appeals, including public inquiries.

With over 30 years experience, Alistair has extensive experience working at senior levels within local planning authorities, planning consultancies and also the house building industry.

Alistair works on behalf of national house builders and land promoters, as well as directly for landowners and agents including as “lead consultant” on major strategic urban extensions. He has regularly represented clients at development plan examinations and at appeals, working closely with clients, other specialist consultants and Leading Counsel.

Alistair’s time working for a major national house builder has provided him with an understanding of the commercial needs of clients and he works hard to develop positive relationships with Local Planning Authorities and other key stakeholders.

Gemma works on behalf of landowners, housing developers and promoters, advising on planning strategy, local plan promotion and planning applications, with a specialism in rural planning. She has extensive experience delivering schemes within National Landscapes (formerly AONBs) and the wider countryside, including development associated with agricultural landholdings, Trusts, Charities and rural estates.
